Video problems annoy people. Audio problems end meetings early. At this size the microphones deserve more attention than anything else in the room.

The room gets wide before it gets long

Twelve people usually means a wider table, and width is harder than length. People at the ends fall outside a fixed camera and outside the pickup pattern of a single microphone.

We plan camera coverage for the seating shape and distribute the microphones across it, then tune the room so the far end hears one conversation rather than a room with hot and quiet spots.

Microphones go where voices are

Coverage is planned across the seating rather than clustered where the cable run was convenient. Somebody at the end of the table should not have to lean in.

The camera has to find who is speaking

At this width a fixed wide shot turns everybody into a small figure at the end of a table. Speaker framing keeps whoever is talking large enough to read, which is most of what makes a remote participant feel included.

Where audio engineering earns its keep

From eight seats up, intelligibility is an engineered outcome: microphone density, speaker placement and processing are calculated against room dimensions and finishes, then tuned in the built room.

We design for the hybrid reality, the far end must hear the quiet contributor at the end of the table, not just the loud voice beside the microphone.

What does a medium team room need for video calls?

Why is one camera not enough for a large team room?

A single fixed camera at that width either crops the ends of the table or makes everyone too small to read. Wider coverage or a second view fixes what framing alone cannot.

What are ceiling microphones and when are they worth it?

Microphones mounted overhead with coverage planned across the seating, keeping the table clear. They earn their cost when table microphones start picking up paper shuffling and missing the far seats.

Why does the room sound different after furniture arrives?

Glass, tables and soft finishes change what microphones hear, which is why we tune audio in the finished room and not before.

Can the room prioritize whoever is speaking?

Yes. Speaker tracking and framing follow the conversation so remote participants see who is talking rather than a wide empty shot.
